Project Administrator, California Health Interview Survey (CHIS)

Karen Markus is the Manager of Personnel for the Center and is responsible for all Center Staff Personnel matters. As Project Administrator for the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS), Markus serves as the CHIS Advisory Board liaison; assists and represents the CHIS Director; and coordinates project meetings, activities and project deadlines.

Prior to joining the Center, Markus was the Executive Assistant to the Associate Deans for Academic Programs and Administration at the UCLA School of Public Health. She also held the position of Office Manager at the Dean's Office for five years. Previously, Markus was assistant to the CEO of a $25-million publicly held international consumer electronics company. She was also a bookkeeper and an administrative assistant to both an entertainment personal management company and an international tax-consulting firm.

Markus is a graduate of Santa Monica College and has taken courses at Los Angeles College and New York University.
