What is the Health DATA Program?
Health DATA is a major public service program of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. The goal of the program is to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants to use health research data to address vital public health issues and to advance public health policy.

The program trains and provides technical assistance to community, service, and advocacy organizations to improve their capacity to find, understand, and present credible data in their programmatic and policy development work—whether it is to get a specific issue on the agenda, raise public awareness or to advocate for public policies that benefit their community

• Customizing data estimates from existing surveys/studies currently maintained by the Center, such as the California Health Information Survey (CHIS), the Current Population Survey, the National Health Interview Survey, the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey and selected others
• Advising on effective data presentation strategies
• Discussing data collection designs such as questionnaires, focus groups and surveys
• Answering questions on the quality of data presented in a particular survey/study
  
  We cannot provide assistance for:
• Designing studies
• Designing surveys and questionnaires
• Converting data from one kind of system to another
