Health DATA offers community based training to help staff and volunteers learn how to access and apply health research data in their program and policy work. Participants work in an interactive learning environment using games, role-playing and group activities to learn how to plan and advocate with data. Participants work with actual research data appropriate to their health area of interest.

For those with limited data experience and new users of the California Health Interview Survey online data query system.

Data and Democracy Initiative en espaņol
A comprehensive training, technical assistance, and networking program for CBO representatives interested in developing data training skills.

Trends in the Health of Older Californians Training  
For program planners and policy advocates of all skill levels who want to enhance their use of current research data on the health of older Californians for program development, policy advocacy, and fundraising.

Introduction to Health Data Workshop en espaņol
Basic training on how to evaluate, find, and apply health data for program planning and policy advocacy.

Introduction to Health Data Using Online Data Sources
For those with limited experience accessing and using health data tools available on the Internet.

Media Advocacy to Advance Public Health Policy en espaņol
A workshop for all skill levels using health data to plan advocacy strategies and messages to reach decision makers via the media.

Performing a Community-Based Assessment en espaņol
Basic training on how to plan and conduct a community assessment including data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Performing a Community-Based Assessment Train the Trainer Course en espaņol
Basic training on popular education and adult learning methods to train community members to obtain and use data in assessments and planning.

Program Evaluation Course
A Civil Engagement course conducted Spring Quarter in collaboration with the UCLA Center for Community Learning.
