Health DATA >> MEDIA ADVOCACY TO ADVANCE PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY
en espaņol

The Health DATA Media Advocacy Workshop bolsters the capacity of participants to identify, understand, and apply media strategies to advocate for public health policies. Workshop participants learn the distinguishing characteristics of media advocacy strategies so that they can develop a media advocacy plan. Using research data, participants identify and assess health issues and identify policy-based solutions to public health problems in their community. Participants also identify target audiences; so that they can develop messages that will attract media interest and reach those who have the ability to effect policy. The knowledge and skills gained in the workshop will help participants use media strategically to influence public opinion and persuade policy makers to adopt policies that promote public health.
