American Indian Research Program
Public Service

The AIAN Research Program provides ongoing technical assistance (e.g., data estimates, technology transfer, and networking) to tribes and urban Indian organizations and serves the public in promoting racial and ethnic health parity. Technical assistance also involves participating in an advisory capacity to the Native American Cancer Initiatives, Inc., and providing native oriented research methods trainings at various health conferences.

The AIAN Research Program staff participate in many national and local efforts aimed at improving the access and quality of health care for the AIAN population. Among these activities are serving on the Advisory Committee for Minority Health of the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, and serving as the past-chair of the American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian Caucus of the American Public Health Association.
